DAN BROWN: DIGITAL FORTRESS

CAN YOU JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER?

Let's see:

US VERSION 1

US VERSION 2

UK / AUSTRALIA

US Version 1 looks cheap. I wouldn't buy it from the shelf. APPARENTLY, that's the cover publisher used for Dan Brown before he becomes popular. Then later, when he become NY best seller, they put bit more money into it, make the cover look more decent, but kinda 80s. Finally they made the UK probably international cover, which is the ones we see in the bookshop. Contemparoy and nice.

But luckily, BOOK IS NOT WINE or ALCOHOL. Can you imagine drinking XO (that is aged 50 years+) or other hundred dollars a bottle alcohol in a disposable white plastic cup. I doubt you would, even if you do, it won't be as enjoyable as drinking it with fancy crystal glasses.

Books, on the other hand, can be enjoyed with a good cover or not. It's the content that matters, but the cover sometimes can get readers to buy it and start reading.

Life after the da vinci code is not highly engaging. during the wedding trip, i was holding the book all the time, being able to conentrate on one thing for a long time, is a good thing and i enjoyed it. so with hope, i bought 1 copy of the digital fortress from Uni. Kosol was joking that i wouldn't be able to be contacted in thew next few days. Addicted to books, suspention books.
